Slowly taking shape

I'm really excited! As many of you know working on getting your home exactly the way you want is a long process and often has bumps in the road like things costing money...
I've been working slowly on making this apartment/condo the way I want it since August and it's slooooowly coming together. My kitchen table and chairs are done and my giraffe print is at the framers as we speak. When I get that back I'll be painting the wall in the kitchen a sunny shade of yellow. It took a while of having different colors taped up on the wall to see how they change in the light throughout the day for me to pick one. I think I finally have a good one. Weekend after next I think I'll be doing the painting. Next project up is refinishing the old record table that sits by the front door. I got the bright idea today to apply a decorative paper to the front of the drawer to bring some fun pattern into the room. I don't know yet what color I'll paint it, that seems to be the biggest problem I have. I am so in love with color and how it makes me feel that it has to be just right. I want my place to have that look of vintage-esqe / 60's modern randomness but as some of you may know it actually takes quite a bit of thought to pull that off. It's sort of an oxy moron, like an "organized mess." After I paint that I'll do the bench that is serving as a coffee table right now. I think that will end up being the same color as the kitchen chairs. Then after that I need to strip and repaint the little bookshelf I have as well as a little table that was my dad's when he was a kid. Anyways- that's just a little bit about my redecorating efforts...

I think you should leave the bench the way it is. It adds a different texture (rather then everything being a flat paint colour) It also helps tie in those kitchen cabinets too.
