Today I brought home my first foster dog! She isn't what I would have picked out for myself but she needed to get out of the shelter and into a temporary home. She was dropped off by her family because they had too many dogs. She came from a home with lots of people and other dogs and since getting to HSSV she has been very depressed. Before coming to the shelter she was a happy and healthy dog. The hope is that by being in a home rather than at the shelter in a room by herself she will get over the depression and we'll be able to find her a permanant forever home. She already seems to be doing better since being here for just an hour. She is exploring the apartment and getting to know the place. I don't know if she has ever gone up and down stairs before but it was funny to watch her go up them for the first time here.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in her let me know or contact Casaundra at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.

Aw, poor thing. What's her name?
Good for you - I think its great when people foster dogs! Hope she finds a forever home soon!
Aww, that's great Amy! I'm so glad you're fostering. Have you thought about hanging out a bit on the pet board on the nest? Lots of ladies on there are looking for homes for their babies, and so you can spread the word even more (and far and wide). I've even seen them added to people siggy's on that board to really get "the word" out. Good luck!! Hope she finds her forever home with a wonderful family soon :)
Oh she is adorable. So glad you did that, she is a lucky little pup!
Aw, what a sweetie pie! Such a great thing you are doing!
