A minor waste of time...

Today I did something a bit out of my comfort zone. I went to a mixer for an organization I'm a part of, in San Francisco. Normally I wouldn't go to an event like that without someone else that I know but I'm unemployed and they are not. I drove to Daly City and got on BART which took me to within a few blocks from where I needed to be. I actually got there about an hour early so I wandered around downtown and went into a bunch of stores I can't afford anything from. I got to the mixer and didn't know anyone there. Well I sort of knew one guy but only as an aquaintance. I did talk to him for a few and to another woman but then I was sort of at a loss. I'm not so good at striking up conversations with complete strangers. I didn't stay as long as I should have but at least I did something I wasn't comfy with. Next time maybe I'll know someone or have the courage to talk to some others. At least I made an appearance and I did get the contact info from the guy, who does have a lot of contacts himself. Oh and I got the info from the woman too so it wasn't a complete loss.
