Just an update

Well I haven't really updated about what's goin on with me lately. My blogging seems to have taken a bit of a hiatus.
I've been keeping myself pretty busy with a variety of activities. I'm sort of working on three different quilts. I'm actually physically working on one for a baby shower I'm going to but I'm in the planning stages of two other ones. I have my first commissioned quilt to start working on and I'm going to start cutting the fabric tomorrow night. The third quilt I'm in the planning stages of is the one I'm working on for my sister. It's going to be a bit complicated so the planning is pretty important.
I've been continuing with extra training sessions at the Humane Society. Tonight I had another class on training techniques and while I was there I got the opportunity to ask a bunch of questions about being a dog foster mom. I've been wanting a dog for quite a while now and for several reasons I haven't done it. For one when we moved into this place my landlord said no pets, secondly I don't feel like I can afford a dog right now. They carry quite a financial responsibility and if I was able to foster a dog the medical coverage and food would still be the responsibility of the humane society. Good deal! Only problem is the possibility of falling in love with the dog and having to give it up if it gets adopted.
I played volleyball again on Saturday, which was great.
I'm struggling a bit right now with the unemployment thing. I found out recently that the firm I was working for that had to lay me off last year has hired back some of the other people that were no longer working for the company and they have posted a job listing on craigslist. I'm trying to be ok with the fact that I haven't gotten a call to come back, I'm sure there is a good reason for it, and it could be one of many. It's just really hard not to get into a funk thinking that I was not good enough in the first place and that's why they let me go. Why would they want to hire me back?
On the fifth of November I'm participating in a jewelry show so I'm getting ready for that. I'm trying to finish up the jewelry pieces and I'm working on finishing up the display too.
I was hoping to take a little day trip some time this week to Pescadero. I've been wanting to check out this little California town for a while now and a couple days ago I found out that there is a goat cheese creamery/dairy there that I want to visit. I have a bunch of stuff to do though so I'm not sure I'm going to go.
This weekend I'm going to my first Halloween party in a long long time! I'm dressing up too and I can't wait! I still have a little work to do on my costume too.
My birthday is coming up too, I have to say this birthday is going to be a lot better than last year!
I guess that's it for now!

Ooooh, happy early b-day!

In terms of the job thing. Call your old manager at the firm and let him know you're still looking, still interested in them, and would like to be kept in mind for future openings.

It might not be that they're purposefully overlooking you, just that they might not know that you're still interested.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Go be squeaky!
