What football game?

I have absolutely nothing against football or the Superbowl, I just chose not to partake this year. I knew the weather was going to be gorgeous and my favorite fabric store in Santa Cruz was having a sale! I love that place! I had to take advantage of the beautiful day.
I had a lovely morning, I got a few things done around the house, went to the farmers market to get fixings to make soup and relaxed. When my sister got off work we headed over the hill to Santa Cruz where it was a balmy 74 degrees. I thoroughly enjoy this weather, knowing full well it's not going to last.
We hit up Hart's and got some fabulous fabric that I can't wait to use!

After that we went to the Penny Ice Creamery which was SOOOOOO GOOOOD! It really was worth the hype! Thanks reader Anne for recommending it! After tasting a few of the flavors to see what would be good I decided on a scoop of burnt cinnamon and a scoop of cardamom pistachio with chocolate chunks. They were both delicious! The cone was even the best I've ever had!

We went to the beach for a while, enjoyed the sun and collected some shells. Of course I forgot to take my camera with me. It was amazing to see children in bathing suits playing in the water and young people drinking beer on the beach and playing soccer, in bathing suits. IN FEBRUARY!
Before heading home we made our way over to the other side of the boardwalk and caught the sunset.

See the moon?

All in all it was a lovely day!

I'm so happy you got to try Penny Ice and even happier that you liked them!! They're certainly not for everyone, but they're excellent for the people who are into that kinda thing. :D

I'm jealous of your hart's trip, and I need to figure out how to get on their mailing list, so I know when they're having a sale! It looks like you had a wonderful weekend!

I was stuck at home, SICK in this GORGEOUS weather which is just insult to injury if you ask me!

I did however get a chance to wash/iron/sort all my cloth, so at least I felt productive. :)
